Each rectangle represents a group of clusters using color to indicate the level of risk, and size to indicate the number of clusters. These visual cues help you prioritize your cluster group review based on activity that generates the most risk.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Heatmap Display<\/h2>\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/library-test.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-rpt-heatmap-display-scaled.png\"><\/p>\n\n<p>The Heatmap display is organized into the following sections:<\/p>\n<ol>\n\t<li><a href=\"#heat-map\">Heatmap<\/a>: Displays the Heatmap view of the selected data as well as filtering and\n\t\tnavigation tools.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"#data-selection-panel\">Data Selection Panel<\/a>: Manages the dates available to TT Trade Surveillance and specifies\n\t\tthe criteria to use when populating the list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h2 id=\"heat-map\">Interpreting the Heatmap<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Heatmap groups clusters by trader, instrument, or account, and displays these groups as a collection of blocks. TT Score calculates an average risk score for each block based on the clusters in the group represented by that block.<\/p>\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/library-test.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-rpt-heatmap-explorer-scaled.png\">\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>The color of a block indicates the severity of the score. Low scores are represented as light green and high\n\t\tscores are represented as red.<\/li>\n\t<li>The size of a block indicates the number of clusters.<\/li>\n\t<br>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/library-test.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-rpt-heatmap-block-metrics.png\">\n\n\t<li>Metrics for the clusters in each group are displayed within the block:<\/li>\n\t<ul>\n\t\t<li><strong>Trader, Account, or Instrument ID<\/strong>: Shows the ID based on the &#8220;Group By&#8221; setting\n\t\t<\/li><li><strong>Max<\/strong>: Highest cluster score<\/li>\n\t\t<li><strong>Avg<\/strong>: Average score of clusters within the group<\/li>\n\t\t<li><strong>Clusters<\/strong>: Total number of clusters within the group<\/li>\n\t<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>Heatmap Navigation and Filters<\/h3>\n\n<p>Navigation and filters are located above the Heatmap.<\/p>\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/library-test.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/heatmap-navigation.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n\t<li>\n\t\tSelect View: Switch between Individual Clusters, Heatmap, and Outlier Chart views.\n\t<\/li>\n\t<li>\n\t\tGroup By: Sort the view by trader, account, and instrument.\n\t<\/li>\n\t<li>\n\t\tCluster Filters: Filter the view by trader, account, instrument, exchange, and broker.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h2 id=\"data-selection-panel\">Data Selection Panel<\/h2>\n\n<p>On the left of the screen, the <a href=\"us-selecting-data.html\">Data Selection Panel<\/a> shows the daily activity\n\tlogs that have been selected using the date picker and are available for data visualization. It also includes\n\tfilters to apply to the\n\tdata view.<\/p>\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/library-test.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-us-import-panel-1.png\">\n\n<p>The panel includes the following:<\/p>\n\n<ol>\n\t<li><strong>Score Range<\/strong>: Sets the maximum score of the clusters to include in each view.<\/li>\n\t<li><strong>Date Range<\/strong>: Date-based selector to add daily activity data to analyze.<\/li>\n\t<li><strong>MODELS<\/strong>: Sets which types of suspect trading patterns to analyze in the data. Check this\n\t\tcheckbox to apply all problematic trading models.\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\n<p><\/p>\nTT Trade Surveillance uses the following models to analyze data for problematic trading patterns:\n\n<ul>\n\t\n\t\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-abusive-messaging.html\">Abusive Messaging<\/a>: Quote stuffing schemes designed to introduce predictable latency into an exchange&#8217;s quoting engine or malfunctioning algorithms that might cause market disruptions.<\/li>\n\n<li><a href=\"inv-automated-collusive-spoofing.html\">Automated Collusive Spoofing<\/a>: Patterns of manipulative or disruptive trading activity by multiple traders working together to automatically submit a number of orders for which they have no intention of executing in an attempt to move the market.<\/li>\n\n<li><a href=\"inv-automated-spoofing.html\">Automated Spoofing<\/a>: Patterns of manipulative or disruptive trading activity that involve the automated placement of a number of orders for which a trader has no intention of executing in an attempt to move the market.<\/li>\n\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-collusive-spoofing.html\">Collusive Spoofing<\/a>: Patterns of manipulative or disruptive trading activity by multiple traders working together to place a number of orders for which they have no intention of executing in an attempt to move the market.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/library-test.tradingtechnologies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/TT_Trade_Surveillance_Guide_to_Trade_Surveillance_Models.pdf\">Configurable Models<\/a>: In addition to core models, TT Trade Surveillance offers configurable models that allow you to create models to generate alerts when activity matches the specified parameters.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"ci-cross-product-overview.html\">Cross Products<\/a>: Patterns of suspicious trader behavior across instruments, products and markets. The clusters identify activity between multiple traders across different configured products.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-cross-trading.html\">Cross Trading<\/a>: A cross trade occurs when a buy order and a sell order for the same instrument are entered for different accounts under the same management, such as a broker or portfolio manager.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-exchange-messaging-rate-limit.html\">Exchange Messaging Rate Limits<\/a>: Instances where traders exceeded the exchange message rate limit for a set period of time during a trading session.<\/li>\n\n\t\t<li><a href=\"inv-influencing-the-open.html\">Influencing the Open<\/a>: Instances where indirect wash trades occurred at the open of trading in violation of exchange rules.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-marking-the-close.html\">Marking the Close<\/a>: Trading activity intended to manipulate the settlement price of an instrument during its settlement period.<\/li>\n\n\t\t<li><a href=\"inv-momentum-ignition.html\">Momentum Ignition<\/a>: Behaviors that indicate an attempt to create an artificial price movement with aggressive orders followed by an attempt to capitalize on such movement.<\/li>\n\n\t\t\t<li><a href=\"inv-pinging.html\">Pinging<\/a>: The entry of multiple small orders intended to discover hidden book depth followed by a series of order actions designed to force the large order to trade at less desirable prices.<\/li>\n\t\n\t\t<li><a href=\"inv-price-ramping.html\">Price Ramping<\/a>: Behavior that may be an attempt to create artificial price movement with aggressive orders.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-spoofing.html\">Spoofing<\/a>: Patterns of manipulative or disruptive trading activity that involve the placement of a number of orders for which a trader has no intention of executing in an attempt to move the market.<\/li>\n\n\t\t\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-wash-trading.html\">Wash Account<\/a>: The same account ID is both the buyer and seller in the same transaction.<\/li>\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-wash-trading.html\">Wash Trader<\/a>: The same trader ID is both the buyer and seller in the same transaction.<\/li>\t\n\n\t<!-- <li><a href=\"inv-session-dominance.html\">Session Dominance<\/a>: The same trader makes up a high percentage of the total market volume of an instrument over an entire trading session.<\/li> -->\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-dominance-at-open.html\">Dominance at Open<\/a>: A single trader&#8217;s orders make up the majority of the disclosed market volume of an instrument during the first 15 minutes of the current trading session.<\/li>\n\n\t<li><a href=\"inv-session-dominance.html\">Order Book Dominance<\/a>: A single trader&#8217;s working orders make up the majority of the disclosed market volume of an instrument at any time during a trading session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n<!-- also included in https:\/\/library.tradingtechnologies.com\/tt-trade-surveillance\/us-selecting-data.html -->\n\n\t<\/li>\n\t<li><strong>Products<\/strong>: Sets one or more of the following product types to include in each view:\n\t\t<ul>\n\t\t\t<li>Bond<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>Common Stock<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>Cryptocurrencies<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>Index<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>Options<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>Outrights<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>Spreads<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>Unknown<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\n\t<\/li><li><b>ORDER ID<\/b> \u2014 Allows you to search for clusters using an order ID.<\/li>\n\n\t\n\t<!--\t<li><b>Keep Dropdown Filters Selected<\/b>: Maintains your selected trader, account, instrument, and exchange filters when changing the selected date(s), models, or product types.<\/li> -->\n\n\t<li><strong>Apply Filters<\/strong>: Applies the selected dates and filters.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h3>Visible models in the Data Selection Panel<\/h3>\n\n<p>The TT Trade Surveillance Dashboard settings in the <b>Preferences<\/b> | <b>Models Defaults &#8211; Visibility &amp; Range<\/b> section\n\tdetermine which models are visible in the panel and what range of cluster scores are included in the cluster data\n\tviews.<\/p>\n\n<p>When you click the <b>Surveillance<\/b> tab to show the Data Selection Panel, the <b>MODELS<\/b> section is filtered\n\tbased on your visibility preferences.
